Marquette Catholic High School is excited to welcome Eric Thimsen as a new member of the business office. Thimsen brings experience, faith, and a positive attitude to the Marquette community.
Thimsen said he was drawn to Marquette because of its strong Catholic environment. “I want to work at
Marquette Catholic High School because I am Catholic and I want to be surrounded by other faith-filled people,” he said. Before coming to Marquette, he worked with the St. Louis Archdiocese, helping churches and schools with accounting and financial needs.
His interest in working for Catholic organizations began early, “I knew I wanted to work in a religious organization when I was sixteen years old working at a Catholic church near my home,” Thimsen shared. He helped in the evening answering phone calls and putting the weekly inserts inside of the Sunday bulletin. Those early experiences helped guide him toward a career combining faith and finance.

In his current role, Thimsen enjoys working with numbers and supporting school leaders. “I have a passion for numbers. When I am able to do what I love for a place like Marquette High School, it makes work seem like fun,” he said. He has already felt welcomed by the school community, adding, “Everyone is very kind and genuine.” Thimsen stated that he enjoys working for a place which holds the same religious values as him to help keep his faith strong.
Outside of work, Thimsen values family time. He has been married to his wife, Kathy, for 17 years, and they have two children. His daughter, Lillian, will attend Marquette next year, and his family enjoys camping and playing soccer together.
Thimsen hopes to be a dependable presence at Marquette. “My hope is that I am someone people can depend on,” he said. With his experience and welcoming spirit, Eric Thimsen is a great addition to Marquette Catholic
High School.
