The 2025 season for the Marquette Catholic High School girls volleyball team showed a lot of growth and teamwork. Under the leadership of Head Coach Mark Ellebracht, the Explorers faced a challenging schedule filled with tough conference rivals and competitive tournaments.
The team finished the season with an overall record of around 8–12 and a 3–3 mark in conference play, showing consistent effort and improvement throughout. Senior leaders such as Ella Tesson, Allie Weiner, and Karly
Davenport guided the team both on and off the court, while several underclassmen players stepped up and made valuable contributions.
One of the biggest highlights of the season came during a comeback victory over Carlinville, where Marquette dropped the first set but rallied to win the next two, 25–22 and 25–22. This match showcased the team’s resilience and determination to fight back, no matter the score. The Explorers earned several hard-fought three-set victories, proving their ability to stay composed under pressure.
While the season brought many positives, it also came with challenges. The team faced strong opponents such as Belleville Althoff and other talented programs that tested their defense and consistency.
Despite these obstacles, the Explorers never lost their spirit. They qualified for regional play, where they picked up a strong win over Litchfield before ultimately falling short of a deeper playoff run.
As the season came to an end, the focus shifted to the lessons learned and the growth achieved. The future looks bright for Marquette Catholic volleyball, as the team prepares to return stronger, smarter, and more unified for tehe next season.
